Butternut Trunk

Norwegian Style Trunk
The Norwegian style is shown in Butternut.  Butternut is a cousin to Black Walnut but is lighter in color and has similar grain patterns.  The style has characteristics of old Norwegian trunks having a rounded, over hanging top with scalloped ends, tapered sides and feet.  The handles are of heavy forged polished brass.  The inside tray is where this trunk gets away from the old style.  It has a full lift out tray (made of red cedar) easily removed for full access into the trunk.
